Jumeni is a growing waste collection platform in Accra that connects households and businesses with waste collectors, making waste disposal convenient, reliable, and affordable. We service over 300 customers within Accra.

We’re on a mission to make waste collection easy and hassle-free for every Ghanaian.

The Role

We’re looking for a highly organized and strategic Business Operations Specialist to work directly with the founder across Jumeni and other ventures. You’ll help the founder manage team operations, implement growth strategies, conduct research, engage with industry stakeholders, and handle the strategic and administrative work that keeps multiple portfolios running smoothly.

This is a high-trust, high-impact role for someone who thrives on variety, loves solving problems, and can move seamlessly between strategic projects and day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Management & Coordination (25%)

  • Oversee and support two core team members
  • Ensure team members have what they need to succeed in their roles
  • Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Handle team-related administrative tasks and communication

2. Strategy Implementation & Growth (25%)

  • Research and help implement growth strategies for Jumeni
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and industry research
  • Support business development initiatives and partnerships
  • Track key metrics and performance indicators
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and expansion

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Outreach (20%)

  • Conduct outreach to industry stakeholders, partners, and potential collaborators
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external contacts
  • Represent Jumeni in meetings and communications when needed
  • Coordinate partnerships and external collaborations
  • Support fundraising and investor relations activities

4. Executive Support Across Ventures (20%)

  • Support the founder’s responsibilities across multiple businesses
  • Manage projects and initiatives on behalf of the founder
  • Prepare materials, reports, and presentations
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and travel when needed
  • Serve as a liaison between the founder and various stakeholders

5. Operations & Administrative Management (10%)

  • Handle day-to-day administrative tasks across businesses
  • Maintain organized records, documentation, and files
  • Manage schedules, deadlines, and priorities
  • Coordinate logistics for projects, events, and initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in executive support, operations, business management, or related roles
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills - you can juggle multiple priorities across different projects
  • Strong research and analytical abilities - comfortable gathering information, analyzing data, and presenting insights
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Self-starter with high ownership - you don’t wait to be told what to do; you identify what needs to happen and make it happen
  • Strategic thinking - you understand how day-to-day work connects to bigger goals
  • Comfortable with ambiguity - you thrive in environments where priorities shift and you need to figure things out
  • Proficient with technology: Google Workspace, project management tools, communication platforms
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working directly with founders or executives
  • Background in startups, operations, or business development
  • Familiarity with waste management, logistics, or social impact sectors
  • Experience managing teams or contractors
  • Grant writing or fundraising experience
  • Experience working across multiple organizations or projects simultaneously
