Jumeni is a growing waste collection platform in Accra that connects households and business with waste collectors, making waste disposal convenient, reliable, and affordable. We service over 300 customers within Accra.

The Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Customer Accounts Specialist to ensure our customers receive excellent service and that our operations run smoothly. You will be the operational backbone ensuring that pickups are accurately tracked, payments are collected on time, and customer accounts remain healthy. You will ensure that what we deliver matches what customers are billed for, and that accounts stay current so we can continue providing reliable waste collection services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operations Data Management (35%)
    • Verify that all pickups are accurately entered into customer accounts
    • Review pickup records for accuracy
    • Identify and correct data discrepancies before invoices are generated
    • Maintain clean, accurate customer records in our system
  2. Payment Collection & Account Health Monitoring (30%)
    • Follow up with customers on outstanding payments
    • Conduct regular account health checks to ensure pickups align with payment status
    • Reconcile customer payments across multiple channels (mobile money, bank transfer, cash, cheque)
    • Monitor accounts receivable and prioritize follow-ups appropriately
  3. Customer Communication & Support (20%)
    • Notify customers proactively about pickup delays, service disruptions, or schedule changes
    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally
    • Route technical issues, operational problems, or complex requests to the appropriate teams
    • Gather customer feedback to help us improve our services
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with our customer base
  4. Account Management & Service Coordination (10%)
    • Process on-demand pickup requests from existing customers
    • Monitor customer usage patterns and identify potential issues early
    • Ensure customers who fall behind on payments are addressed before service continues
    • Maintain documentation of customer interactions and account status
  5. New Customer Onboarding (5%)
    • Complete the sales funnel for customers who express interest
    • Conduct waste assessments and prepare service quotes
    • Explain service offerings, pricing, and how the platform works
    • Guide new customers through registration
    • Coordinate first pickup and ensure smooth service launch
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in customer service, operations, billing, collections, or related roles
  • Proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail in previous roles
  • Strong attention to detail—accuracy is critical in this role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Professional phone manner and customer service mindset
  • Comfortable with technology (web dashboards, mobile apps, spreadsheets)
  • Basic understanding of invoicing, payments, and financial reconciliation
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with CRM systems or customer management software
  • Previous experience in customer service, logistics, or on-demand services
  • Basic to intermediate Excel/spreadsheet skills
